The new data protection law – the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – which came into force in May 2018 requires me, Roxanne, to explain and reassure you of how I handle and protect your personal data.

So let’s start off with a simple statement:

I will always respect the privacy of those who browse or leave contact details with me through this website.

Any information you submit to me, either through this website, or through any other means of communication is regarded as confidential, and will not be passed on to any 3rd party without your express prior permission.

I gather your information for the sole purpose of creating and facilitating a ceremony you have commissioned – be it a Funeral, Naming, Wedding, Renewal of Vows or Commitment Ceremony.

 

Explicit Approval

When you confirm a booking with Roxanne Angelique Ceremonies, you will be required to sign a Data Protection consent form, asking for explicit approval to collect, hold and process your personal data as set out in accordance with the GDPR.

 

How do I use your personal data?

I will use your personal information to the extent necessary to:

  • carry out your booking
  • contact you when necessary in relation to your booking
  • receive payment
  • follow up after your booking

Who do I share your information with?

I may share your data with industry professionals for the sole purpose of facilitating the ceremony you have commissioned.  This may include:

  • Funeral Directors
  • Funeral Arrangers
  • Crematorium/venue staff
  • Wedding Planners
  • Hired Photographers/Videographers

 

How do I store and retain your personal data?

All your information is stored both electronically on a password protected device, and on paper during the process of creating a ceremony.  Your data is retained whilst your booking is carried out.  Thereafter, with your express consent, I will continue to retain some of your personal information for a further period of 6 years to ensure compliance with HMRC tax and reporting requirements, after which, your data will be destroyed.

Nobody else but myself will have access to my password protected computer, and paper information is held in a locked cabinet.

 

What are your rights?

You have the right to have a copy of any data that I hold and the right ‘to be forgotten’.  Additionally, you have the right to request, at any time, that all data held on your is permanently deleted.

What if I contact you but don’t book your services?

Should you contact me through this website, through email or any other means but we do not end up working together, your information will be destroyed after a 3 month period.

My website contains links to other sites of fellow professionals to enable you to visit other relevant websites easily.  However, once you have used these links to leave my site, you should note that I do not have any control over any other website, therefore I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you should provide whilst visiting such sites that are not governed by this privacy statement.

I will not sell, distribute or lease your information to third parties for any other purpose than to fulfil my role as your celebrant and ensure your ceremony is carried out to the absolute best of my ability.

I am a registered member of the Information Commissioners Office and pay my Data Protection fee yearly.
